All vintage jewelry is previously worn and loved, and so is rarely in “mint condition.” We examine and clean every piece we have in our collection before presenting it for sale.
Vintage Jewelry Condition
To help you with your vintage jewelry choices on The Brooch & Bangle, we’ve outlined the definitions we use to describe the vintage items we sell.
EXCELLENT: The front side is perfect or nearly perfect. Back may show light wear. All parts are original and working.
VERY GOOD: The front side may have light wear that is not noticeable without a close look. Back may show moderate wear. All parts are working. Any part replacements or repairs are not noticeable (e.g., rhinestones replaced with excellent matches).
GOOD: Wear to the front side may be noticeable (e.g. darkening or yellowing of rhinestones that could not be replaced; noticeable enamel chips). Back may show moderate wear or more. All parts are working. Any part replacements or repairs improve the appearance or durability of the piece.
FAIR: The wear is very noticeable to the front and not repairable (e.g. a number of missing stones; heavily scratched metals). The back may also have significant wear. Typically we don’t have such items in our inventory unless it is a unique item of interest to collectors.
